It always pays to get ahead of everybody else. Make a deposit payment today and enjoy the privilege of being the very first to pick a puppy at Saussie Aussies in Louisville, Kentucky.

The prices indicated above are estimates and are subject to change. We base our prices on eye color and coat markings. Prices can sometimes be lower than those listed above.

There will be instances when we offer puppies at a lower price. We do this so that dogs can find owners to care for them at home by the time they are 10 weeks old. This is crucial to their well-being and adjustment.

We also offer breeding rights. These are available for an additional $200.

Genetic Testing

All of our dogs at Saussie Aussies are Genetically Tested by PawPrint Labs. We do not breed dogs infected by any known diseases or conditions. The kit we provide you contains documents bearing information on the genealogy and genetic profile of your puppy. This is important knowledge for every dog owner.

When dogs have the MDR1 mutation, the blood brain barrier is compromised. The P-glycoprotein encoded in the gene is responsible for pumping many drugs and other toxins out of the brain. This may cause abnormal neurologic signs and can cause illness requiring an extended hospital stay, and in extreme cases, even death.

All sizes of Australian Shepherds and related breeds can have adverse reactions to drugs such as Ivermectin (Heart Guard), Loperamide (Imodium), and other medications.

Dogs that carry the MDR1 gene will be sensitive to Ivermectin and other related drugs. Carriers of MDR1 may also experience some sensitivity to Ivermectin and other similar drugs. If dogs are found free of MDR1, they do not exhibit any sensitivity to these above-mentioned drugs.

Always consult with your veterinarian before administering any medication to your dog. We view DNA testing as vital to the current and future success of our breeding program. Although prior DNA testing makes us spend more, we are nevertheless committed to the health and well-being of every dog under our care.
